Our client is a leader in software development in Quebec. They’ve won multiple growth prices along the way and they’re expanding aggressively in both national and international markets.


The IT administrator will be in charge of overseeing multiple IT infrastructure projects. The coordination of one other intermediate IT technician (L1-L2) while guaranteeing a 3rd level support is another important aspect to consider for this role. The administrator must be exceptionally available on week-ends and evenings.24/7 support is required for this role.



Improve and/or implement new standards and new IT processes and ensure that they are applied ;

Follow the general performance of hardware under his responsibility: disk space, CPU, response time, printing ;

Analyze the results of performance and capacity monitoring in order to recommend necessary adjustments ;

Perform updates of hardware and software such as adding disks, memory; Update firmware, OS and application ;

Document and keep current all operations documents ;

Ensure the dissemination of infrastructure rules and standards to the teams concerned: use of space, operations procedures, etc ;

Administer infrastructure-related services such as e-mail, IP telephony, file servers, Sharepoint, Databases, Terminal server, backup server, AD, etc ;

Administer the infrastructure and guarantee its integrity ;

Oversee the proper functioning of data backup jobs, perform periodic validation of the contents of backups and make necessary corrections ;

Analyze event log files of servers and make corrections to different alerts found ;

Ensure that hardware inventories are always up to date ;

Support and administer infrastructure-related security solutions ;

Provide technical supervision to his colleagues so that they use existing tools effectively and instil an optimal work method in them.

Required conditions

  • Profile Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the computer Network or System Administration field
  • Technical degree in computer technology or related field
  • Advanced certificate in networking (CCNP, MSCE or greater) – Asset
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience – Mandatory
  • Expertise in Windows server environments (AD, O365, GPO)
  • Expertise in networking concepts: LAN, WAN, WIFI, VPN/IPSEC, switches, firewall and routers
  • Good knowledge of virtualization applications (VMWare)
  • Good knowledge of databases
  • Good knowledge of scripting (Powershell, bash, python, ruby)
  • Strong interest in computer security
  • Methodical & disciplined approach to problem solving and analysis.
